An American Hero

In the year 1941 the Americas were needed in Europe because Adolf Hitler had risen to power. The U.S. responded by sending 4 million troops to Europe. One of those troops served longer than anyone else. That soldier was named Henry. Henry served in the U.S. army for fifteen-years. He was a four-star general and had his own troops to command. He took his troops to Africa, where Hitler’s best general, Johann was in command. He served in Algeria with 8 thousand men. Soon they had been ambushed, but they won the battle. The ambush caused a lot of damage to Henry’s troops. They were cut down to thousand troops. They made a new camp, only to be ambush once again. Johann was in command of the ambushing and this battle was completely lost. Henry was killed by Johann himself. The U.S. Army sent a letter to his wife, Marian, to inform her of his death and his murder.

In 1942 the United States was sending more troops to Europe including Mrs. Marian,(Henry‘s widow). She wanted revenge for losing her husband. Marian was in the big red one, one of the finest troops in the United States. She got in the big red one by acting as a man. She was already in a boat, which she was being sent to her first war scene. The worst wars were at the beachheads, and that’s exactly where she was headed. She sat next to a man named Russell, and they stood ready to die. It is 6:27 a.m.

“30 seconds!” said the driver.

“Holy crap man, I ain’t ready to die here.” said Russell.

“Okay guys, make simple, Stay alive, alright!,” said the lieutenant.

“Yes sure,” said Marian.

“10 seconds!”

“Get ready troops!” said the lieutenant “This can get a little rough.”

“Open the gates.” said the driver.

The sound of gunfire was all that Marian could hear. Bullets were flashing out of nowhere, killing the troops. Marian was running as fast as she could to get out of the boat to safety. Her friend ran too, but as soon as he stepped on that sand, he exploded into thin air. Marian wasn’t ready for what she had just seen.

“God damn” said Marian.

Marian looked up in the sky and saw German bombers.

“God damn German bombers. Run lieutenant!” said Marian.

BOOOOOOM, Almost all of the German bombers soon fled because the US Air force came to cover the ground troops as they made it over the beach.

“Mario, get your demolition weapon and blow this damn gate” said the lieutenant.

“Alright sure,” screams Marian.

The colonel called Marian “Mario” because nobody knew that she was a girl yet. Marian took down the barbwire but needed help. She was scared because she was getting shot on her backpack. Marian soon finished putting the demolition inside of the sand and she raised her hand so the rest of the demolition team could get to her. The Germans saw her hand and started shooting at her hand, but Marian got lucky. They missed. The demolition team got there before the Germans raised their guns at them. They finished with the demolition and all the troops watched them move to the side.

Marian lit up the match and lit up the wire, then she moved to the side. BOOM. The Americans got up as fast as they could and rushed to get to the other side of the barbwire. She went with them and she saw a boy who was barely 18. The boy went in front of her and she fell into a trench. She got up and looked up and saw that the boy was crossing the other side of the trench. While he was crossing he got shot in the chest. The bullet went through the boy’s chest and into sergeant William’s head. Sergeant William fell on top of Marian and the blood spilled all over her face and clothes. There was no time for her to scream. Her face turned pale. Marian pushed the crows food aside and got up only to face a German soldier. The German soldier told her “Dont schießen Sie bitte,” but Marian didn’t understand his language, so she shot him. Suffering and in pain, the German couldn’t take it anymore, so Marian shot him in the head. A loud “booooom” was heard from the Americans. They looked up and saw that a bunker was destroyed. All of the Americans shouted out loud, happy that they crossed to the other side of the beach. Marian got a cup and opened the lid and got sand from the French beach. She closed the lid and put it with the rest of the other cans that didn’t have anything. She was called by the lieutenant.

“Okay Mario, you are going with the 501 team alright,” said the lieutenant.

“Alright, sure I’ll do it,” said Marian courageously.

“Good. You will go into France and meet up with Echo team got it?” said the colonel.

“Got it,” said Marian.

“Go then. Don’t keep me waiting,” said the lieutenant.

“Let’s go team!” said Marian “We got to get there before the Germans do,”

The team had six guys ready for combat. After four days they went to a city called Caen. The team moved into the city. The entrance had been road blocked so they had to cross it. The team leader, Oscar, went first. He checked for enemy troops, but their was nothing. Suddenly, they heard an explosion. They looked up and saw that the general wasn’t in the same spot. They looked everywhere and then one man found him. The general was dead. He was in two pieces.

“What the hell happened? A minute he is there and the next he is here” said Manuel

The team heard that the German panzer was crossing the roadblock.

“Take it down team!” said Christian.

“Right away, sir!” screamed Dexter “Take it down Drake!” “Hurry, Drake!”

“I’m going, god damn it!” exaggerated Drake.

“Here it goes guys!” said Drake “Say Bu-bye panzer.”

“Yeah, nice work man,” said Manuel.

The tank was in flames and burning. The team annihilated the tank. They went into the city and it didn’t seem like a bad idea just to walk into the city. This was a bad idea. In fact that was the stupidest ideas they had done. The Echo team was captured while the 501 was walking through the city. After walking the whole way they made it to the extraction point were they had to meet Echo team. They were satisfied that they didn’t see the team where they were suppose to. The team looked up and saw German bombers. This time there wasn’t anyone to save them. The planes each trough two bombs on them. Marian took shelter in a fallen wall of a ruined building. The rest of the team took shelter in a house. BOOOOM. That is what Marian heard.

“That was it team. Let’s keep moving,” said Marian.

After a minute or two they started moving again. Then they left the city of Caen and went to the forest of death. They searched for a POW camp of the Germans. The search for the POW camp took about 3 hours. It was night time. They soon found the camp and they got ready for the next day. The next morning Manuel woke up Marian and saw that the Germans preparing their Tiger tank and panzer tanks. They only had three panzer tanks and one tiger tank. The panzer had a 20 mm gun. The tiger tank had a 88 mm gun. The team waited for an hour so that the Germans could put ammo in the tanks so they could go to war. The three panzers were ready to go, but the tiger tank wasn’t. Manuel got his gun and ran to the tiger tank while the Nazis weren’t watching. Manuel got in the tank and started it. The tank was good to go, but had no ammo so they rammed the tank into the gate of the POW camp. The Germans started shooting at the tank. Manuel was in the tank so he got out and got shot in the chest. Drake thought he was dead so he got his gun and started to rush them. Then, out of nowhere, he got shot by a sniper from the top of their tower. There he laid Manuel on the floor, bleeding from his right hand. Marian looked from her binoculars to see who the sniper was. The sniper was Johann. Marian, Dexter, and Christian ran to the tower to kill Johann, but the German defense was there. Luckily their was only two Germans. So the team killed them quickly. Then Marian went up in to the tower with Dexter to kill Johann. They went up to the top floor where Johan was. They opened the door and there he was sitting on a chair facing them. Marian had to do something and the only thing left was to kill him. Marian stopped because Johann looked really young. Marian thought that he was only in his 20’s. Marian got her gun and changed the ammo and so she reloaded the gun. She pointed the gun at him and said “Why did you do it.” She got her finger and pulled the trigger back and shot Johann in his forehead. Marian soon killed Johann.

Eventually reinforcements came and Dexter was at the bottom of the building ,but Marian wasn’t. The Germans came with seven panzers and around fifty troops. Marian went down stairs and then she heard gun shots coming from outside of the camp. Those gun shots came from Christian. Dexter went to tell Marian about Christian. Dexter met up with Marian and he told Marian that Christian was dead. Marian told Dexter to live this place immediately. Dexter called the base and to pick him up in the city of Caen. Marian went outside and saw an army. She threw down her gun and said I love you Henry.” Those were her last words before she died.
