Article#2

This article that I have read was about that the Euoropean Space Agency are going to have the second chance to launch a satellite to make the most sensitive measurements for sea ice and glaciers. The first launch was a fail in 2005 which crashed in the Artic Ocean. They soon spent over 207 million dollars to make another try, which is called the CryoSat 2. They say that this satellite should be launched in September. ESA Mission Science Division. The CryoSat 2 will get the data on polar ice every 30 days from the altitude of 445 miles which will be recording the centimeter size changes in the ice thickness by measuring the ice's height with the microwaves. The microwaves can penetrate clouds better than the infrared that is used in NASA. This satellite will provide the tracking of cloud covvered regions like Greenland. The thickness of the ice will help the climate scientists make better computer models to predict polar tempertures.

Article #1

In this article I read that in this year they have made new inventions on electronics. They have invented that for now on we can watch TV on netbooks, cellphones and even on other mobile devices. After analog TV had ended. Analog TV has put up parts of the broadcast spectrums to use on mobile devices. TV broadcasters from 30 stations in 17 cities have waisted up to 150,00 dollars for every tower to install better transmitters that send, broadcasts directly to specially equipped mobile devices. This only costs a penny a minute to provide this service. For other services they have costed 4 dollars per minute. This service is called Mobile Digital TV. This allows wireless devices to equip a tuner chip so it can recieve signals derected from the transmitter towers.

DP Reflection

DP Reflection Steps
Directions for the DP Reflection: Complete these steps every time you put a new project of completed assignment on your DP.
Project Description:
- What was the assignment? Describe it here.
The assignment for me was to make either a trebuchet, water system, or a boat. What I decided to make with my group was a trebuchet. It just wasn’t going to be like the rest of my classmate’s trebuchets that were going to be just out of pipes. Ours was going to be made out of real wood. The best of all my classmate’s trebuchets.
Process:
- What steps did you take to get to the final product?
The first step that me and my group though of how to make this trebuchet. Me and my teammates then started to make blueprints for the trebuchet. Then my group told Ms. Mele what the tools that we were going to need for this great trebuchet. Ms. Mele soon brought our tools and then we got started on my work
Reflection:
- What did you learn?
- What challenges did you encounter?
- What would you do the same or different?
- How will this help you later?
What I learn about this project was that I can't do anything just by myself but with my group.
The challenges that had encountered was that I can do anything all by myself.
What i would do different was that I should have stayed more longer fixing my trebuchet.
This will help more later because maybe soon we might have more projects like the time travelers project.
